SINUS – Security in Usage of Online Services

A growing number of organizations consider the use of Internet services as an important part of their future business activities. Especially smaller or medium sized enterprises (SMEs) could spread their business activities using the Internet. One of the greatest restricting problems for the commercial use of the Internet is security. In particular, the secure connection of local area and organization internal networks to the largely insecure Internet requires careful planning, implementation and monitoring. There exist many organizational and technical security concepts. Organizational concepts are often too complex or too theoretic for adoption by SMEs. Technical solutions need to be embedded in a security conception. So there is a strong need to reduce the gap between security conception and technical security solutions. In this paper we present the SINUS project and first results within the project.
